Shopify Website Development for Copper Creek Vineyard
A scoped build plan for a wine, beer & spirits e‑commerce storefront — New Hudson, Michigan.
Project Overview
Copper Creek Vineyard is a licensed liquor, wine, and beer retailer known for a curated selection of spirits, wine, and beer alongside a personalized in‑store shopping experience. This document defines the scope, deliverables, timeline, and responsibilities for the design and development of a new Shopify e‑commerce website — built with the compliance, age‑verification, and shipping‑restriction considerations specific to the beverage‑alcohol industry in mind, alongside standard e‑commerce functionality.
Objectives
- Launch a modern, mobile‑responsive Shopify storefront reflecting the Copper Creek Vineyard brand.
- Enable online browsing and purchase of wine, beer, and spirits with a compliant shopping experience.
- Provide clear legal, shipping‑restriction, and responsible‑consumption disclosures throughout the site.
- Support customer accounts, order history, wishlist, and a blog hub to drive engagement and SEO.
- Deliver a store the client's team can manage independently post‑launch — products, blog, banners.
Scope of Work — Pages & Features
The following pages and templates are included in this engagement.
Alcohol Compliance & Age Verification
Age verification and full alcohol‑compliance functionality (age‑gate, checkout‑level ID confirmation, restricted‑shipping enforcement) is not yet confirmed as part of this SOW. The development team is currently evaluating technical feasibility on Shopify — app availability, checkout compatibility, and any Shopify plan/API limitations. This section will be finalized, and scope/timeline/cost updated accordingly, once that review is complete.
Pending confirmation, the intended compliance elements are:
- Site‑wide age‑gate/interstitial (21+) on first entry — feasibility to be confirmed.
- Checkout‑level age/ID confirmation checkpoint — feasibility to be confirmed; may depend on Shopify plan or checkout extensibility access.
- A dedicated Shipping Restrictions page listing states, dry counties, or regions where shipment is prohibited or limited — this static content page is in scope regardless of the outcome below.
- Automated or manual checkout logic to flag/block orders to restricted shipping regions — feasibility and approach to be confirmed by the dev team.
- Responsible‑consumption disclaimer language on the Disclaimer page and site footer — in scope as static content.
- Cookie Consent banner for privacy‑law compliance, e.g. CCPA/GDPR‑style notices as applicable — in scope.
If an item is confirmed technically feasible within this project's platform/app stack, it will be built and delivered as part of this SOW. If an item is found not to be feasible — or feasible only via a paid third‑party app or a higher Shopify plan — the agency will flag this to the client with options before proceeding, and document it via the Change Request process (Section No. 14) if it affects scope, timeline, or cost.
Note: Copper Creek Vineyard is responsible for supplying final legal text for Terms, Privacy Policy, Shipping Restrictions, and Disclaimer pages, ideally reviewed by legal counsel familiar with Michigan liquor‑control and interstate shipping regulations. The agency implements and formats this content but does not provide legal advice.
Functional & Technical Scope
- Client‑owned Shopify plan (Basic/Shopify/Advanced/Plus — to be confirmed).
- Customization of a premium or custom‑coded theme (Online Store 2.0 / Liquid sections).

- Product catalog with variants, collections, filtering/search.
- Cart, native checkout, payment gateway integration.
- Customer accounts, order history, address book, wishlist.

Third‑party app subscription fees are billed directly to the client by the app provider and are not included in this SOW's pricing unless otherwise stated.
Design Scope
- Custom homepage design incorporating Copper Creek Vineyard branding, imagery, and color palette.

- Client supplies brand copy for Home, About, Contact, FAQs, and all legal/compliance pages.
- Agency configures basic on‑page SEO — meta titles/descriptions, URL structure, alt text — across all templates.

Change Request Process

Investment & Payment Terms
Fixed‑fee for the full scope outlined in this Statement of Work — design, development, and launch of the Copper Creek Vineyard Shopify store for 500 products.
Pricing reflects the scope defined in this SOW as of the date above.
